We worked with Borland to understand the requirements in each region and to suggest a courseware format which would standardise the physical appearance of the training materials.

The Requirement

During the initial consultations with Borland, it was determined that Borland required a global vendor for their courseware and therefore, KnowledgePoint recommended the KnowledgeCast Alliance which provides Global solutions.

KnowledgePoint’s subsidiary, KnowledgeCast Ltd, is the partner in the Alliance for the EMEA region and would be the managing partner. Although KnowledgePoint offers global distribution for UK and EMEA based companies, KnowledgeCast provides regional production which can yield significant savings in shipping, duties and taxes.

Borland were previously using multiple vendors worldwide to manage, produce and ship their courseware globally. We worked with Borland to understand the requirements in each region and to suggest a courseware format which would standardise the physical appearance of the training materials regardless of where the training was delivered.

With an understanding of the classroom environment, training format and budget constraints, KnowledgeCast produced a specification which met the demands of our customer.

What we did

We designed a product format which is available for production in all regions worldwide. Borland worked with KnowledgeCast to review their courseware print files and submit the most recent versions of all courseware. These were then reformatted by KnowledgeCast for the chosen print size.

Online tools were created to manage the file submission, ordering process and partner royalty management. The periods for the quarterly reporting function were then agreed and the content reviewed to ensure KnowledgeCast were supplying all the information required in order for Borland to best understand the successes of the relationship and the budget allocation in each area (materials, shipping, etc).

Training on the online tools was conducted through webex seminars to the global users.

Result

Borland now have a high quality, standardised product format delivered in all regions. This is accessible by online tools and complimented by solid business reporting processes.
