| Digital Printer of the Year KnowledgePoint have won the Digital Printer Award 2010 for their innovative use of variable data with a bespoke software solution. The Digital Printer Awards recognise the peak of achievement in this rapidly growing industry sector by judging on creativity, originality and innovative thinking as epitomising the very best in digital application. Based on the imaginative ideas behind the print, the awards highlight the quality of the process and look in detail at how digital print and variable data are used in original and unusual ways, and how they can help to drive business growth. The winning entry from KnowledgePoint focused on a joint project implementation with the University of East London (UEL) to provide a "build your own prospectus" facility. This innovation enables prospective students to self-select specific course information for download and to receive their personal prospectus printed digitally in full colour. Data is captured and tracked for profiling personalised marketing communications. The project hit UEL's key objectives; to enable a self-select online prospectus in realtime; to achieve cost efficiencies; and to reduce the impact of print production on the environment. KnowledgePoint Co-Founder Paul Gibbons says: "It's been a very rewarding experience to deliver significant change and cost efficiencies for UEL and give greater strategic depth for their marketing capability. Making a positive difference to our customers is a key deliverable for us. We are delighted to have won this prestigious award. It's always rewarding to be recognised for achieving business excellence." "These awards confirm our leading position in the development of user-focused marketing solutions based on an understanding of the expectations and objectives of the online prospect, linked to an on-demand digital print output.", says Jonathan Stephenson Head of Digital Media at UEL. Earlier this month, KnowledgePoint also won a Finalist Medal for the Small Business Project of the Year for Revolutionising Variable Data Publishing in the education sector at the BCS & Computing UK IT Industry Awards. |
