| Consideration for the environment is a lynchpin of KnowledgePoint’s corporate and social responsibility.
In fact, we will soon enjoy ISO14001 accreditation for our Environmental Management policy. This includes using paper which has been sourced from accredited sustainable forests wherever possible. Where this is not possible, we use recycled papers which are ‘post-consumer waste’ – de-inked and bleached using a totally chlorine free process. Paper production is achieved using a process conforming to ISO 14001 and/or EMAS Environmental Management Systems - and our paper is delivered in boxes which comprise 60% recycled materials.
Positive cultural attitudes are crucial to any environmental policy and KnowledgePoint has developed sound environmental procedures which have been thoroughly assimilated across both our sites with excellent staff co-operation at all levels. The Environmental Management Standard (EMS) has been running since 2007 and has seen advances made in organisation, use of technology, monitoring of energy usage and suppliers’ ‘green’ credentials. More recently we have initiated plans to build on the relationship between supplier environmental developments and customer product developments.
In addition, the decision has been taken to advance the amalgamation of EMS and QMS documentation reflecting KnowledgePoint’s holistic approach to business development.
