KnowledgePoint installs revolutionary digital colour kit

KnowledgePoint has expanded its colour fleet and installed the Xerox iGen 110 Digital Production Press with smartsize technology.

The iGen is a big leap forward in communications technology because it makes it easy to print marketing messages that are created specifically for each recipient.  KnowledgePoint can combine unique customer traits and preferences with specific graphics and text to generate more effective messages in marketing materials that hit home with each individual recipient.

The equipment has built-in intelligence – automatically adjusting to paper characteristics; monitoring every print and imaging technology to deliver high-quality colour from a volume of one single item to thousands for books, brochures and personalised marketing materials.  The benefit of such advanced technology is to dramatically increase the effectiveness, experience and engagement with digital printed online and offline communications and documents.

iGen is the only on-demand press that can print colour pages at an affordable cost so businesses can get a competitive edge with sharp colour definition.  The pigments provide remarkable colour fidelity and image processing ensures smooth edges on text and line art for crisp font reproduction.  The automated colour quality suite press matching system uses an internal spectrophotometer that is integrated directly into the paper path.  The system automatically generates the colour patches on target sheets, reads them and then evaluates and makes adjustments to enhance image quality.  The process emulates industry colour standards such as GRACol, ISO and Japan Colour.

The technology allows the use of mixed paper stocks in a single run coated, uncoated, smooth or textured
without a drop in productivity even if each page has difference graphics, text or pictures.

Now businesses can access the power of colour at an affordable cost to give impact and clarity to documents and sales and marketing communications - and apply personalised text for variable information to increase the success of the message.

The iGen is environmentally friendly, using non-toxic, dry inks, no hazardous materials and generating no hazardous waste (according to applicable waste regulations worldwide).

Says Andre Philpot, Director and co-founder: “We’re very excited about the increased level of innovation and impact that we can bring to the digital print market with this important addition to our print technology capabilities.”
